there's a new super hero in town.
actually it's been around forever but few have ever seen it or felt it.
it can't fly or leap tall buildings, move mountains or stop a runaway locomotive, but it can take any form it likes and regenerate itself.
it does not discriminate, fights endless battles on our behalf without ever taking a break even for one fraction of a second, just to keep us safe.
it works silently through the night and while we go about our days.
it enters battles on our behalf we don't even know exist.
it never asks for credit, applause, or rewards, and never complains when we thoughtlessly knock the stuffing out of it, cultivating grounds where its enemies can thrive and plunder.
sound like superman?
that's not far from the truth. in fact, we'd be lost without it, finito, toast.
this super hero exists in every one of us.
it is the human cell.
moot or hooey?
moot or hooey?
lysosomes, which destroy damaged cells, are also known as suicide bags.
there are about 210 distinct human cell types, not including all the bacteria we house from other organisms. remember pigpen on charlie brown… eeeeewwwwe
