the worms crawl in and the worms crawl out...

over the past two weekends i've built quite the garden on my patio.
flowers and herbs everywhere. i've squirrel-proofed most of the pots (where did those walnut trees come from) and even started building a glass greenhouse.
this weekend i put on all the final touches. then it came down to the inevitable.
i sighed, grabbed a bucket of dirt, and went on a worm hunt.

now i'm not normally squeemish about the little wrigglers, and quite often rescue them from the flooding streets. this was a little different though. i've never wrangled so many in one go. eeeeegh! it's just a little icky when they stretch themselves a foot long on the cement (why do they do that!) and then scrunch up fat and clammy when you try to pick them up, then just give up and hang from your finger all stretched out again.

well, i dealt, my garden looks fabulous, and the worms are happy. at least i think they are. they've been having picnics.

moot or hooey?
there's a restaurant in Kurume, Japan that serves gyoza made with farm raised earthworms
