heartbreaking

poverty is a world issue as most of you know.
it's unacceptable that people are living this way esspecially in an age of overabundance. there is more than enough food, potable water, and shelter in the world to help everyone in need.
excuses come easily when fear and the feeling of powerlessness are present.
it's so much more challenging and a bit scary to stand apart from the crowd and ask for a change. but we have to. it's the only way. and each and every one of us has a voice that matters.
most of the biggest most powerful changes in history have been made by individuals.

the photo above is not from Africa, India, or another area of the world we hear about on a daily basis. this photo is from Canada. it's absolutely heartbreaking.
and isn't it interesting to hear that the province of british columbia was able to find three million dollars within a matter of a few weeks, to clean up a storm's devastation of stanley park, and yet...

moot or hooey?
half the world, nearly three billion people, live on less than two dollars a day
