hail mary

it was a sunny day with people jogging in parks, the warm mid-day sun pulling buds from the trees. 

later in the afternoon a few drops of rain squeezed from the random clouds that lounged above the tree line, painted a glimering rainbow from heaven to earth. ah, nature, and her glorious gifts! ... 

then all hail broke loose. yep, hail. I'd gone indoors for approx three hours, to emerge out onto two inches of hail, and it was coming down the size of peas. 

have you ever been hit with a pea? it was like a thousand elementary school bullies were staked out in my yard, with broad smiles and shooters fully loaded. 

I went inside and hid under a blanket in front of my fireplace.
